Ben Morales

Ben joined the Army in the Fall of 1965, at the age of 18. After graduation from Jump School he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division Company B, 325th infantry at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. 

In December 1966 he got orders to deploy to Vietnam, and was placed in Company A, 1st Batt. of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. In October 1967 he was trapped in an ambush near Tuy Hoa. His injuries were severe enough that he was returned to the states to recuperate, and after nine months he was discharged from active duty.

In his own words - "I feel I have maded a complete recovery, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I look upon my military experience with a sense of pride and I have a deep respect for the warriors of the past and present."
