Ray Moreno Ray Moreno enlisted in the U.S. Army June 21, 1948, in San Pedro, CA. He saw service with the 11th Airborne Division Parachute School and the 11th Airborne School Japan. Ray qualified Airborne Parachutist in 1950. He served in the Korean War with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, and was wounded March, 1951. He maded two combat jumps in Korea, with combat jumps at Suchon in 1950 and Monsan 1951. He was discharged May 1, 1951. After his service he worked as a fuel tanker driver at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ. Ray was also the first Commander of the Mexican-American Paratroopers Association in Tucson. |
