Joseph Zavala
 
  Joe Zavala entered the service on June 21, 1965. He was Airborne unassigned to Fort Knox Kentucky.  A.I.T. to Fort Lenordwood MI., for combat engineer.

  Went to jump school at Fort Benning GA., on October 1965. Then went to Fort Bragg, NC. in November 1965.

  Joe was honorably discharged for medical reasons on March 14, 1966.

  I had fun in the service, though I hurt with spinal bifida. There were times where it was hard for me to perform my duties, but I somehow managed. In the long run I was a candidate for the Rangers and Special Forces. I am proud of my service, but am glad that I didn't go to Viet Nam.
